PRIMAVERA at CEDA

PRIMAVERA is a European Union Horizon 2020 project that aims to develop a new generation of advanced and well-evaluated high-resolution global climate models to provide simulations and predictions of regional climate with unprecedented fidelity, for the benefit of governments, business and society in general. PRIMAVERA ran from November 2015 until July 2020 and its simulations are available through the ESGF. For more details about PRIMAVERA please visit https://www.primavera-h2020.eu/.

The PRIMAVERA simulations contributed to the HighResMIP activity in CMIP6. For more details of HighResMIP please see Haarsma et al., 2016, doi:10.5194/gmd-9-4185-2016.

Eight institutes contributed simultaions to PRIMAVERA: AWI, CMCC, CNRM-CERFACS, EC-Earth-Consortium, ECMWF, MOHC, MPI-M and NERC. Additional institutes ran HighResMIP simlations as part of CMIP6, which are also available from the ESGF. The HighResMIP data therefore consists of:

• CMIP6 mip_era from the eight PRIMAVERA partners and the global community
• PRIMAVERA mip_era dara that contains some additional datasets, typically at a high frequency, from just the eight PRIMAVERA modelling institutes
